|Title||Pride of Iowa or Urn of Flowers|
Pride of Iowa or Urn of Flowers. From Cora Quick Coker's home in Council Bluffs, IA
Green, red and yellow solid color cotton applique on white cotton.
Since it was found in a river town, it is hard to know if it was brought into Iowa or made in Iowa. Since it dated to 1860, it seems more logical that it was brought to Iowa.
Green and red were used more often than this color combination
Birds were usually a part of the design. Handles on the urns were sometimes omitted.
The name Sarah Bailey is stamped on the quilt--middle of the right hand side as the quilt hangs.
The quilting is done in triple rows
